Peach Emergency Room Closing for 6 Hours Tuesday
BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Out with the old and in with the new! Peach County’s new hospital is set to open its doors in less than a week.
The $27 million Medical Center of Peach County is located near Interstate 75 on the Highway 247 Connector in Byron.
It’s about 15,000 square feet bigger than the Peach Regional Medical Center. The new hospital has 25 beds and larger emergency and operating rooms with expanded outpatient services.
With the transition, the emergency room at the Peach Regional Medical Center will close while patients are transferred to the new building. It’ll shut down at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Six hours later, at noon, the E.R. at the Medical Center of Peach County will open its doors.
Anyone who needs emergency care between those hours is asked to call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
