Macon Purrs N Paws in Need of Permanent Home
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The rescue group that helps animals in need is now in need itself,
and searching for a permanent home.
Macon Purrs N Paws is in the midst of a smelly situation at its current location and it could possibly get them evicted. In May, the organization’s neighbors on Rocky Creek Road complained about a strong smell coming from their building. Director Anne Brennaman tried fixing the problem, but determined it was too big of an expense. Macon Purrs N Paws now his its sights set on a new home on Vineville Avenue, but there’s one problem.
“We don’t have the money for the house,” said Macon Purrs N Paws volunteer Jill Dean, “the house is a good price, what we’re asking for right now is to see if we can find a donor somewhere to buy the house and let us but it back from them.”
The total cost of the home is about $40,000, Dean said it’s a high price for a small non-profit that survives solely on donations. Macon Purrs N Paws is looking into all options including small loans and grants. Dean said they are also diligently accepting donations, seeking volunteers and increasing adoptions.
