Perry Thrift Shop Gives Back
St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Perry purchased the building just next door to it’s property. Board members of the church threw around the idea of a possible daycare center or Sunday school.
But the former doctor’s office, turned thrift shop is now called Attic Treasures. At first, church members weren’t sure how successful the store would be with a congregation of 60-70 people.
It’s been one year since the store opened and the treasures just keep pouring in.
“Now the population in our church is growing and we’re scrounging because we won’t give up a square inch of our thrift shop – we can’t, we’re so full” said volunteer Ramona Jackson.
The church has donated about $5000 to various charities in Perry. The thrift shop is open for shopping on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 to 4PM and Saturdays from 10 to 2PM. Donations can be dropped off at the church or at the store.
