Man Robbed in Broad Daylight at Pio Nono ATM
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is in custody after he hit another man over the head with a weapon and robbed him at an ATM.
A release from the Macon Police Department says just before 1:45 Monday afternoon, MPD responded to an armed robbery at the State Bank, located at 3945 Pio Nono Avenue.
The victim told police he was approached by a man who demanded money. After a scuffle, 18-year-old Edip Carransa Juares allegedly hit the victim over the head with a weapon, took his wallet, and fled on foot.
After a brief foot chase, officers took Juares into custody in the Jefferson Hills area near the bank.
He’s charged with Aggravated Assault and Armed Robbery. Bail is set at $16,700.
