Former Wilkinson County Teacher Accused of Child Molestation Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charges
IRWINTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One of the Wilkinson County high school teachers accused of molesting a 15-year-old student earlier this year pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
On Monday, former JROTC instructor Rodney Hunter pleaded guilty to three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Wilkinson County District Attorney Fred Bright tells us he’s facing 36 months of probation and a $2,000 fine.
Bright says he voluntarily gave up his teaching certificate, can no long work in a supervisory position of minors, and he must stay away from the student.
A second Wilkinson County High School teacher is also facing child molestation charges after he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with the same female student. Cornelius Dante Jones is expected to be in court on Monday. 41NBC will bring you the latest in his case during the News at 6.
