Milledgeville Youth Program Donates School Supplies to Moore, Oklahoma School District

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Milledgeville Kappa League program washed more than 30 cars and collected school supplies for Oklahoma tornado victims at a car wash Saturday.

The school supplies and a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Moore, Oklahoma School District.

The Kappa League program is made up of boys in grades 6 through 12.  Members of the Macon-Warner Robins Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity advise the boys and teach them core values, like community service.

Advisers say it’s important to teach kids the importance of giving back to the community at an early age.

The Milledgeville Kappa League will host another fundraising event Saturday, June 22 at Century Bank on North Columbia Street in Milledgeville.  The community is encouraged to bring school supplies, and there is a $5 car wash donation.
