Alligator Found in East Bibb County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An alligator was found in a backyard

The alligator was about nine and half feet long.

Holsie Mackey owns the home on Kiernan drive and he says his neighbor called to say the gator was under this gate in his backyard.

He immediately called the Sheriff’s Office and deputies referred him to the Southeastern Reptile Rescue company all the way in Griffin, Georgia.

The owner Jason Clark caught the gator and says these animals are pretty common in this area.

“A lot of people of alligators, uh you know they live in the swamp. But they’re also naturally native to Macon, Macon Columbus, and Augusta that’s the fall line. Those cities in the South are a natural habitat for alligators,” Clark said.

Clark said the gator would be released somewhere far away from these homes.
