MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local business owner is donating a home to one of her employees.

Kristi Lyles owns The Bear’s Den. One of her employees and his family were living in a home behind the restaurant.

She bought the house and has teamed up with the Fuller Center to renovate the house after it was severely water damaged.

Volunteers have helped all month long with restoring the roof to the home and were installing a new ceiling on Saturday.

Fuller Center Coordinator Diane Fuller says she needs more volunteers and more supplies.

“We stil need some donations to help us pay for some renovations that’s in the kitchen, the kitchen and the living room are the two areas that sustained the most damage from the water coming in the house,” Fuller said. “So we need kitchen cabinets and put some flooring in and some dry wall in the kitchen as well, I’m hoping within the next three to four weeks we can have them moved in.”

Fuller hopes the home will be completed in the next 3-4 weeks and the family will be able to move in.
