U.S. Department of Justice Issues Ruling on Macon-Bibb County Non-Partisan Elections
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The U.S. Department of Justice returned a decision regarding the Macon-Bibb County non-partisan elections for the consolidated government, according to Bibb County attorney Virgil Adams.
Adams responded to 41NBC by text. He could not elaborate or go into details on the ruling.
During this year’s legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly passed the series of bills that would eliminate partisan elections for several of Bibb County’s local offices. It also moves elections from November to July.
