Woman Charged for Beating Three Year Old Son

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon woman is behind bars for allegedly beating her child to death.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, three-year-old Jakarie Reid was rushed to a local hospital yesterday in cardiac arrest. He died this morning just before two from blunt force trauma.

His mother, 24 year old Jamesia Reid of 211 Mutual Avenue, is charged with child cruelty and is being held at the Bibb County LEC.  Macon Police have not upgraded the charges yet.

An autopsy will happen this morning.
