Name Released, New Details in Houston County Deputy Involved Shooting
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Office released the name of the Warner Robins man shot by a Houston County deputy after running a traffic stop.
According to a news release from the GBI, 27-year-old Daniel David Boghosian remains in critical condition after he was shot Friday afternoon.
Boghosian lead authorities on a 20 minute pursuit near Moody Road on Friday around 2:15 p.m. Officials say the suspect was driving a blue truck when a deputy attempted to stop him for a traffic violation near Bonaire Elementary School. After refusing to stop, the pursuit continued on Moody Road, Sandy Run Road, Highway 247, Highway 96 and then back to Moody Road before ending. Additional deputies arrived and assisted in stopping the truck on Moody Road near Placid Drive.
In a news release, Special Agent in Charge of the GBI’s Perry Office Rodney Wall stated:
“After deputies had stopped the vehicle, Boghosian started ramming his truck into two Houston County Sheriff’s vehicles as the deputies were exiting their cars. A Houston County Sheriff’s deputy fired three rounds at Boghosian, two of which struck Boghosian.”
The GBI in Perry is currently investigating the case at the request of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing and once it is complete, the information will be handed over to Houston County’s District Attorney George Hartwig to determine is the use of force was warranted.
