Bibb Sheriff’s Office Investigating Personal Armed Robbery in North Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb’s Sheriff’s Office is investigating two incidents that occurred early Friday morning, according to a news release.
The first incident took place around 1am in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn located at 138 Holiday Inn Drive North. A woman stated she was standing in the lot of the hotel when she was approached by two black males. One of the males lifted his shirt to display a handgun, at which point the woman called her boyfriend for help. Once he appeared, the two men claimed they were stranded before running off to an adjacent hotel.
Shortly afterward, a man from Atlanta was in the process of unloading bags from his car at the Red Roof Inn located at 3950 River Place Drive when he said he was approached by two armed males. The armed men demanded his car, grabbed his keys and then sped off in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
The men were described as slender black males in all black clothing, with both wearing “skull caps” on their heads. The stolen vehicle is reported as a four-door, silver 2007 Honda Accord with a Georgia tag BUI8312. It also has tinted windows and bright L.E.D. type headlights.
The Bibb Sheriff’s Office believes these accounts are related, and are investigating with the Macon Police Department.
