New Entertainment Complex Opens in Warner Robins on Friday

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – This Friday, an entertainment megaplex is set to open in Warner Robins.

The Rigby Entertainment Center is a full restaurant equipped with a bowling alley, skating rink, laser tag center and conference rooms. Developer Steve Rigby said multi-million dollar fun center is far from child’s play.

“If we can get the adults here to have a great time, they all have children,” Rigby said, “and the children will come.”

The 50,000 square foot facility started out as a small proposal for a skating rink. But after traveling around the world searching for innovative ways to entertain, Rigby revamped his plans 26 times.

“I would see something I liked better that I thought would look better and I would come back and change it the next day,” Rigby said.

The laser tag center is one of the largest in the world. The restaurant includes a bar, ice cream parlor and a full menu. Rigby’s already booked businesses and birthday parties in many of the conference rooms. The skating rink also serves as a conference area. On Monday, crews worked on a go-cart track behind the building. The $6 million venture has turned into an investment in the community. So far, Rigby has hired 160 employees.

Everything in the center is paid using a debit-like card system. The cards save points and can be used to collect prizes. Each game is ‘a la carte, which means customers only pay for what they play.

“A trip to the skating rink will set you back about $8,” Rigby said, “a game of basketball or Pacman, about $1.50.”

The Rigby Entertainment Center off of Highway 96 opens Friday, May 3. Rigby has more plans in the fun industry. He wouldn’t say exactly what, but said it has to do with entertainment and water.
