Montezuma City Councilman Sues Mayor, City for Defamation

MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Montezuma City Councilman Bobby Lewis has filed a lawsuit against the city and the mayor over a letter; claiming it was used to ruin his character.

Lewis’s attorney David Bowers states his client was falsely accused of “undermining a narcotics investigation, videotaping a property under surveillance, and having and exhibiting ‘deep seated racism'”.

The suit filed in Macon County Superior Court in January 2013, asked for a jury trial and damages. The complaint names Montezuma Mayor Willie James Larry and the City of Montezuma as defendants.
