Bibb County Joining in National Take Back Drug Disposal Initiative

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Across the state on saturday, the Drug Enfrocement Administration is hosting National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Sheriff David Davis says last year, they collected a 120 lbs. of drugs in just one day!

“I think we’re no different then any other community our size. We do have problems with some prescription drug abuse in this area in particular your narcotic pain killers like Oxycontin and things like that. So this is a chance for honest people to destroy their drugs so they don’t fall in to dishonest hands,” said Sheriff Davis.

Bibb Deputies will be out from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, April 27th collecting drugs at Walmart located at 5955 Zebulon Road.

Drop-offs are anonymous. For more information on locations across the middle Georgia area, click here.
