Eastman Wendy’s Closes Down

EASTMAN, Georgia (EASTMAN EXAMINER) – It’s official—Wendy’s Restaurant in Eastman has closed it’s doors for business. Manager Billy Sharrard confirmed the closure in a telephone interview today.

The Eastman store is a franchise of Wendy’s and not owned by Wendy’s Corporation. The owner was faced with a demand by Corporate Wendy’s to do a major renovation to the building to keep the franchise. The owner decided to close, rather than make the investment.

Sharrard said it has been a pleasure being in Eastman and he really hates to leave. As we talked on the phone, I could hear in his voice his disappointment. Sharrard says he plans to make a move to Hilton Head South Carolina.
