Run Fit Sports Hosting Evening Runs to Benefit ‘One Fund Boston’
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Monday night at 6:30, all Run Fit Sports locations are hosting a 2.62 run in honor of the victims of the Boston bombings.
The distance is 10% of an actual marathon, and all donations raised during the event will benefit One Fund Boston.
The runs will start at Run Fit Sports in Macon, McDonough and Warner Robins. Chief Operating Officer of Run Fit Sports, James Bacon says anyone is welcome to participate, even if you’re not a runner. The run is just about showing unity for the victims.
“I wanna get out there and just show the support really for the people in Boston and I think it’s really a matter of just people coming together,” said Bacon.
There’s no cost to participate, but t-shirts will be available to purchase for $20 each. All the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the fund. People who want a shirt are asked to reserve one, you can call (478) 477-7577 for more details.
