Macon Church Hosts Community Prayer Service For Boston Bombing Victims

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon church held a community prayer service Tuesday night to remember the victims of Monday’s bombings in Boston.

About 25 people attended the service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Macon.

“I actually had a sorority sister (in Boston),” says Molly Wilkins, who attended the vigil. “She and her husband were in one of the medical tents when it happened, so for me it was a little jarring to have a personal connection to that.  But any time I can come to church and hear Father Hal (Weidman), it just gives kind of a different perspective on things.”

The church stayed open after the vigil for those who wanted to reflect and pray about Monday’s tragic events on their own time.
