Falling tree injures 2 Dublin City workers

DUBLIN, Georgia(41NBC/WMGT) – Two City of Dublin workers were injured Thursday morning after a tree fell on their truck.

According to Dublin Police Chief Tim Chatman, it happened at about 8:30 as Johnny Butts and Jeff Washington were traveling near the intersection of Bellevue Road and Oakhurst Street.

Chatman says the two were in a work truck when a tree fell, striking the back of the truck’s cabin.

It happened during heavy winds.

Washington was taken to Atrium Health Navicent, The Medical Center in Macon. Butts was taken to Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Chief Chatman says both are recovering and he’s thankful.
