Griffin-Ziebart to Remain Acting Superintendent for Bibb Schools
MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Board of Education voted to extend the current acting superintendent’s position.
During a called meeting Monday morning, the BOE immediately went into closed session. According to the agenda, they were discussing “personal matters, future acquisition property, pending litigation.”
The board met behind closed doors for more than two hours. When thy returned, the board voted to keep acting superintendent Suzanne Griffin-Ziebart in the position until May 1. The board voted 6-2 with board members Lester Miller and Jason Downey voting against the extension.
Griffin-Ziebart was named acting superintendent on March 1 with a 30 day limitation.
The Bibb BOE is working with the Georgia School Boards Association to find a new superintendent.
After the vote, the board went back into executive session to discuss other matters.
