MPD Searching for Woman who Lured Man for Sex, Robbed Him
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville police are looking for a woman they say lured a man to a church to have sex and then robbed him.
It happened Monday night at the New Beginnings Worship Center off Southside Drive. Major Reginald Hill tells 41NBC the victim, Lavoris Latoris Cummings, met the woman behind the church for sex. Officers say when he got out of the car, two masked men came from the woods and started beating him in the head with guns.
Police say they stole Cummings’ keys, wallets, and $240 cash. His wallet and keys were found at the scene.
Church members found Cummings heavily bleeding, dazed, and confused. Police say he was bleeding from the left eye, the front of his head, and from a gash on the back of his head.
The pastor of the church believes divine intervention saved Cummings’ life.
“This is my thinking, when they beat him up, they took his phone, keys and left him here which means he had no way of calling anybody, no way of getting help, but God put members of the church in place to be there for him and we thank God for that,” Pastor Earnst Franklin Jr. said.
MPD says Cummings knew the woman. Hill says the victim is in good condition and working with the police department to find the woman.
Hill says they have a person of interest in this investigation, but police are not releasing her identity at this time.
