Forsyth Councilman Indicted on Bribery Charges Resigns

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Mayor John Howard says Forysth city council voted to accept the resignation of councilman James Calloway.

The mayor read a letter of from Calloway at the start of Tuesday night’s council meeting. Council voted to accept Calloway’s resignation.

Calloway was indicted last week on bribery charges along with fellow council member Desi Hansford. The two will appear in Federal Court for a hearing on Thursday afternoon.
