Dozens Become U.S. Citizens During Naturalization Ceremony
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dozens of people became U.S. citizens Wednesday morning during a naturalization ceremony in Macon.
Forty-four applicants from 18 different countries took the Oath of Allegiance at the U.S. federal courthouse with Judge Marc Treadwell presiding. The courtroom was packed with supporters to witness this special moment.
For many applicants, getting U.S. Citizenship took several years and they are excited to officially call themselves
“It’s very exciting and the best part is I get to vote. I’ve always wanted to vote,” Melinda Dantzler said.

The group said the Pledge of Allegiance for the fist time as U.S. citizens. They also received their official Certificate of Citizenship.
