Large Crowd at Big Bird Bash Despite Cold Weather
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – This weekend’s cold weather didn’t keep music fans from jamming at the Big Bird Bash.
The music festival hosted by the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom raised money for Cox Capitol Theatre, the Big House Museum and Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation. This year’s lineup featured 8 different groups and included several local artists.
Organizer Kristen O’Neal estimated nearly a thousand people showed up this year.
It was the first year the event was held at Luther Williams field. It will also be the last year the event will be known as the Big Bird Bash. Organizers will be changing it’s name to the Macon Music Festival. O’Neal hopes the new name and larger venue will make the event an even bigger success.
