After SWAT, and Hostage and Negotiations officers responded, they removed a female from the home. No one else was found inside after they entered the residence. Precinct 2 Area Commander, Major Robert Grabowski says at this time, they believe the woman taken into custody was mentally ill. She was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

According to Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet, officers responded to the home at 2977 Gordon Street around 7 a.m. in response to a threat. The officer knocked on the door and didn’t get a response, so he left.

Around 7:31 am, another call came into the E911 Center in regards to that same home. When the officer arrived the second time, he heard an argument going on inside the house. Gaudet says someone inside verbally threatened the officer and that’s when he called for backup.

At this time, officers do not believe another person was in the house while officers were on the scene. Grabowski says they are still investigating this incident.
