$62,200 Knight Foundation Grant to Fund Macon-Bibb Consolidation Transparency Efforts

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- As part of an effort to make Macon-Bibb County consolidation smoother, and more transparent for residents, The Knight Foundation Wednesday announced a big funding boost for the project. Macon Director of Public Affairs, Chris Floore says the $62,200 grant will help keep the consolidation process focused on the people of the two merging municipalities.

With the funds, the task force will be able to purchase new equipment to stream and archive all meetings online, and to hold forums where residents can ask questions, and get quick answers. A dedicated consolidation website will also be created.
