One Critically Injured, Seven Others Wounded in Macon Shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — One person is critically injured, and as many as seven others are wounded after an early-morning shooting Sunday morning in Macon.

According to a news release from Macon Police spokesperson, Jami Gaudet, the shooting happened inside a home located at 2856 Mercer University Drive around 3:45 am.

One victim sustained a critical wound to the thigh. Several others, as many as seven, were wounded. They suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Gaudet says MPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is gathering evidence and interviewing victims and witnesses at the scene and at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

A neighbor we spoke with said he heard loud music coming from the home. He believed there was a party going on. He also heard several gun-shots from inside his home, which is located next door to the scene.
