Macon Police Chief Out on Leave Until March

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Police Chief Mike Burns will be out of the office until mid-March.

According to a news release from the Macon Police Department, Burns underwent a medical procedure last week. MPD spokesperson Jami Gaudet wouldn’t elaborate on the procedure but said he will not return until the middle of next month.

“He appreciates the get well wishes and support of friends, colleagues and the community,” the police statement said.
