Three Arrested, Indicted for Running Prostitution Ring in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A federal grand jury indicted three people and a corporation on 43 counts ranging from managing a prostitution ring to money laundering at a Macon tanning salon.

United States Attorney for the Middle Georgia District Michael Moore, says the charges are against Hyeon Joo Chae, Kye Wol Dyreson, and Ki Un Jordan, and the corportation Hong Ik, Inc.

Moore says there were operating a prostitution ring out of Sedona Tanning Salon. It’s located at 1922 Riverside Drive in Macon.

US Attorney Michael Moore says Macon Police, and the federal bureau investigation moved in on a search warrant and made the arrests Thursday night. Moore says the investigation began in 2008.

Moore says the agencies used constant surveillance and undercover operations to build their case. Through investigation, they determined customers would come through the door, and pay a house fee for a massage. Then they’d be taken to a back room where they were offered sexual favors for additional cost.

Moore says this was a big take-down for his office.

“I hope that if the folks that want to operate these criminal businesses take anything from today it is that my office and the criminal justice that you see up here, we use every resource that we have to close em down, and we hope that the message that they take is it’s time to close up your doors and shut it down,” said Moore.

The Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agencies were also involved in the investigation. Moore says there were illegal workers involved, but right now they do not believe this operation involved trafficking.
