Mercer Appoints New Dean for School of Business and Economics
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT – A new dean has been appointed to Mercer’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics.
Dr. Susan Gilbert has been a longtime faculty member and academic administrator at Emory and Rutgers Universities, as well as spending several years as an executive with AT&T in New Jersey.
Mercer President William Underwood believes that they have recruited an experienced and accomplished person to lead the business school, saying, “Dr. Gilbert knows our region well from her previous experiences and she has a sterling track record at the institutions she has served. We expect our business school will thrive under her leadership.”
Dr. Gilbert said that she is honored to be joining the distinguished faculty and administration of Mercer, as well as being delighted at returning to her adoptive home state.
She will assume leadership of the 1,000-student business school beginning on April 1st.
