Five Players from Baldwin High Headed to the Carolinas
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Five players from Baldwin High School are headed to the Carolinas next year.
Jaycarus Harper, Jaitavius Jackson, Kentarius Cooper, and Shemar Latimore all signed to play at Louisburg Community College in North Carolina. Derrick Washington signed to play for Presbyterian College in South Carolina.
Head football coach for Baldwin, Dexter Copeland, knows he’s losing some of his best players, but isn’t sad, “All five of them are great, tremendous football players,” he said, “also tremendous people. They do all the right things.”
While all five college-bound athletes were excited about playing football at the next level, they knew that getting a quality education was important, too. Harper said he would like to work with computers, and Jackson expressed interest in helping out the community and possibly doing environmental work sometime in the future.
