Tubman Museum Presents Exhibit by Local Artist DeWayne Kendrick

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — In honor of Black History Month, the Tubman African-American Museum has teamed up with local artist DeWayne Kendrick to present a new exhibit.

It’s called “Memory Lane: An Artistic Journey Through Black Cinema.” The paintings that will be on display are oil and acrylic works inspired by the movies “The Color Purple”, “Malcolm X”, “Raisin in the Sun”, and the television mini-series “Roots”. Kendrick’s artwork will be on display Friday night, February 8th at the museum. During the event, he will also be painting to the sounds of local hip hop performers.
