Circus Setup Underway Inside Macon Centreplex

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s not every day camels, ponies, horses, and trapeze artists are seen in Macon, but now through Sunday that’s what you can expect inside the Macon Centreplex.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is here once again. This year’s ‘fully charged’ edition features a new Ringmaster, new acts, a light show and singing and dancing. Crews got to town Wednesday morning to start assembly on the ring and prepare for the weekend show.

Cathy Carden is the animal trainer for the circus. She says this year is all about new and exciting events for people to see.

“We have this really interesting act from Russia. An award winning aerial act where this guy does crazy flips to the floor…It’s like ‘Whoa, did he just fall? Oh, no. He’s getting back up. Ok awesome’. It’s really exciting, it’s a great show. And of course the stars of the show, the biggest stars are the elephants,” Carden said.

The circus begins Thursday and runs through Sunday. For ticket prices and show times click here.
