UPDATE: Macon Police Officers Accused in Tractor Theft Resign
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The two Macon Police officers accused of stealing a tractor are no longer employed by the Macon Police Department. In a news release sent Saturday evening, MPD spokesperson Jami Gaudet stated that Officers Troy Guidry and Jon Wantz “resigned pending termination”.
Both officers are charged with theft by taking and violation of their oaths of office, after allegedly stealing a tractor from a local plumbing company.
Chief Mike Burns had this to say about the incident: “The actions of these officers is a grave disappointment to the entire MPD family and will not be tolerated by me or by our department.”
