Body Found Behind Home in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tells 41 NBC a body was found behind the home at 833 Corbin Avenue Wednesday afternoon

He’s been identified as 63-year-old Robert Odom of Macon. Jones says the body has been there for several days. It was covered in mud and found in some bushes near a ditch.

Jones says Odom is known to disappear for a few days at a time, but he always came back. Neighbors tells 41 NBC Odom was known as “Mr. Fest” and had a heart of gold.

Investigators say it’s too soon to rule out foul play and they don’t have a cause of death yet. Jones says an autopsy will be performed in Thursday morning.
