State Troopers Out in Full Force During Holidays

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – New Year’s is just around the corner. State troopers will be out in full force and are warning motorists to drive safe.

The holiday travel period started at 6 p.m. Friday and lasts until midnight on Tuesday. As of Saturday night, Georgia State Patrol has investigated 135 crashes, 54 injuries, and no deaths. This time last year, GSP investigated almost 300 crashes, seven deaths, and more than 250 people were arrested for driving under the influence.

During the holiday, troopers will be out looking for speeders, motorists not wearing seat belts, and impaired drivers.
