Fourth Annual Cherry Blossom Ball Drop to Ring in 2013
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Thousands are expected to close out the year in downtown Macon Monday night for the fourth annual New Year’s Eve Cherry Blossom Ball Drop at Cherry Street Plaza.
For parents looking to have their kids in bed at a decent hour this year, the festival’s organizers have made the first two hours of the event family-friendly.
From 7-9, kids can participate in bouncy inflatables, face-painting and more around the plaza, and a mini-fireworks show will blast off at 9.
After that, it’s time for the adults to ring in the new year.
Food and drink vendors will be available along with musical entertainment, and of course, at midnight, the Cherry Blossom Ball will drop.
A large video screen will also be on-site for attendees to view New York City’s world-famous celebration.
Once the new year begins, a fireworks show will close out the night’s events.
