Macon Council Likely to Discuss Funding Consolidation Again at Tuesday Meeting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The heated debate over whether the city of Macon will pay for half of consolidation costs is expected to get a little more attention Tuesday night at the full council meeting.

The appropriations committee voted 3-2 on Monday to approve the item after it failed to pass earlier this month.

However, the Ordinances and Resolutions Committee didn’t place the item on the agenda for the full council meeting Tuesday night.

According to appropriations committee chairman Tom Ellington, the item is likely to come up again at Tuesday’s meeting.

“I expect that there’s going to be a motion to disagree with O&R and place that on agenda,” says Ellington.
