Dairy Queen Raises Money for Cochran Girl with Epilepsy

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One local restaurant owner is giving back to the community, one ice cream cone at a time.

The Dairy Queen in Cochran donated 10% of its proceeds to a local girl battling epilepsy.

10-year-old Riley Edge has epilepsy and is constantly suffering from seizures. Edge’s family plans to adopt a service dog to allow Riley to have more freedom. When Ali Momin, the owner of the Dairy Queen in Cochran heard Riley’s story, he wanted to help.

“This community had been so good to me,” Momin said, “I have to give back.”

So Momin’s Dairy Queen declared December 15 Riley Edge Day, donating a percentage of his proceeds to Riley and her family.
