Macon and Bibb County Seek Help with 2012’s Unsolved Murders
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sharbora Daniels was shot and killed in June, when a stray bullet ripped through her home. It’s Bibb County’s only murder from 2012 that remains unsolved.
As the end of 2012, draws near. Those closest to Daniels fear her killer will never be caught. Kaleata Hernandez’s children were good friends with Daniels. Everyday, she hopes for a break in the case.
“I was really waiting to hear something from anybody saying that these people were caught,” Hernandez said.
For Mark Swan, hearing those words would be like music to his ears. In July, Swan’s employee and close friend Albert Jelks was found badly beaten outside of the Sleep Shop on Vineville Avenue. Jelks died from his injuries. It’s just one of Macon’s four unsolved murders from 2012.
“I wouldn’t have imagined it,” Swan said, “it angers me, saddens me.”
But for Swan, what hurts the worse knows no arrests have been made. With 2012 coming to an end, Swan’s hopeful the New Year, will bring new leads.
Anyone with information in these cases is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
