Macon-Bibb NAACP Announces New President
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new president will lead the Macon-Bibb branch of the NAACP in the New Year. Monday, the organization announced that Gwennette Westbrooks will step into the role beginning January 1st.
Westbrooks is currently the assistant treasurer of the organization. The current president, David Booker, said Westbrooks will bring her religious connection and strong coalition within the NAACP to the forefront.
According to a news release, Booker chose not to run for the position again. He says he will continue to work and support the local NAACP branch.
