Macon Police Officer Punched in the Face

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Macon Police officer ended up in the emergency room early Saturday morning, after a man punched the officer in the face.

23 year old Deja Antonio Grier is charged with aggravated battered on a police officer, aggravated assault, and possesion of marijuana.

Around 2AM Saturday, downtown bike patrol officers responded to a fight on Cherry Street near MLK Blvd.  The officers were trying to break up the fight, when Grier punched one of them, according to MPD.

The officer hit had to have six stitches around his eye to close up the cuts.
