UPDATE: Jones County Woman Dies After Shooting at Macon Gas Station, Supsect Charged with Murder
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Jones County woman is dead after she was shot in the chest during a fight at a gas station.
Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet identified the woman as 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutt.
Gaudet says the shooting happened around 1:15 at Murphy’s Express on Gray Highway, just past Shurling Drive. Hunnicutt and a 73-year-old man got into a fight after his wheelchair hit her car. When she got out of the car, the man pulled out a gun and shot her in the chest.
Police arrested suspect Frank Louis Reeves. He is charged with murder.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the woman went into cardiac arrest on the scene. Macon police performed CPR. The woman was pronounced dead in the emergency room at The Medical Center of Central Georgia around 1:25.
This is an on-going investigation.
