Warner Robins PD to Host First Ever “Virtual Ride-Along” Via Twitter

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a police officer? Warner Robins police is giving you the chance to patrol the streets with an officer—via Twitter.

WRPD is holding the first ever “Virtual Ride-Along” via Twitter on Thursday, December 6th from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh will ride with a patrol officer and tweet calls for service, arrests, and anything else the officer encounters on his shift.

The idea is to give a glimpse into the daily life of a police officer patrolling the streets.

“This is kind of one of our ways to show, ‘hey, you don’t know what’s going to happen,'” Pugh said. “It’s kind of exciting because anything can happen and that way we can tell people this is what our officers experience in our city.”

Pugh says she’ll also tweet pictures and videos so you can feel as if you are there. You’re also encouraged to tweet your own questions to Pugh and the officer and they’ll do their best to respond.

You can view the “Virtual Ride-Along” by following @WarnerRobinsPD on Twitter.
