Check Out Display of Lights At Old Governor’s Mansion

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Looking for a place to go enjoy Christmas and holiday decorations this season? Head to the Old Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville for a taste of its Southern Holiday Traditions decorations.

The mansion has been set up and decorated to resemble what Christmas would have looked like in the home in the early 19th century.

The mansion’s curator, Matt Davis, stopped in our Daybreak studio to give us a sneak peek of what this year’s decorations look like.

The museum will be open for tours beginning December 1st, and will be open through the 23rd.

Traditional holiday music by The Sweet Adelines Chorus will be on Saturday, December 8th. The Milledgeville Singers Guild performs Saturday, December 15th, and local pianist Jana Harrell performs Saturday, Dec. 20.

New this season is the mansion’s musical day Christmas concert. The concert begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11th, with a performance by Jackson High School Handbell Choir, followed by a noon performance by Georgia College’s Max Noah Singers.
