First Ever Taste of Perry Sold Out

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In just over a week, more than 400 people will take in all of Perry by enjoying food from some of the town’s restaurants. But, if you don’t have tickets, it’s too late to get in on all of the action of the 1st Taste of Perry event. According to a news release, the November 29th event is already sold out!

Those who have secured their spots will not only enjoy food from some of Perry’s eateries, there’s also a wine and beer tasting, plus a live auction at the event.  Stacy Campbell, the President and CEO of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce says the group is really excited about the auction. Some of the items up for grabs are sports memorabilia, including UGA fan gear, and fine art that Campbell says you won’t find anywhere else.

Campbell says she hopes this event will encourage those in attendance to eat locally.

“Maybe they will go and taste the food at this upscale event and they really like it, and then they patron these businesses a little bit more,” Campbell said.

In addition to eating locally, tasting spirits, and participating in an auction, ticketholders will also witness the first induction into the Chairman Club. Campbell says the 20 inductees are being honored for their past and continued support of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. There will be a small ceremony just before the auction to highlight those individuals.

Now that the tickets are sold out, final preparations are underway for the Taste of Perry event. Campbell said the event will be decked out with a Christmas theme, and a harpist will perform.
