Lines Grow as Shoppers Gear Up for Black Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Shoppers continue to line up in front of stores hours before Black Friday begins.

The line at the Best Buy in Macon is starting to wrap around the building and the store doesn’t open until midnight. People started lining up around 9 in the morning Wednesday. Many hard core Black Friday shoppers say the lines are not very long this year, possibly because of the economy.

Many say the big savings are worth giving up their Thanksgiving and bracing the cold weather. Several shoppers hope to save hundreds of dollars on TVs, laptops, and other electronics.

Other stores opening on Thanksgiving aren’t as crowded yet. As of Thursday morning, there were no lines outside the Wal-Mart off Eisenhower Parkway and Target.

Many of the shoppers in line at Best Buy expect the crowds to come soon.
