Black Friday Shoppers Happy With Results
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The overall consensus? Black Friday shopping turned out to go pretty well this year, according to shoppers.
We patrolled a couple of stores this morning, asking shoppers what they were looking for, were they happy with what they found, and had they had any problems while shopping? The majority cited a pleasant experience, no real issues with others, and being able to get what they want.
Our first stop was to Best Buy in Macon. Store Manager Eli Douglas said the 40 inch LCD T.V’s were by far the most popular item off the shelves this morning. It also happened to be the biggest advertised product on Best Buy’s fliers this year.
“Then everything else, has been a big variety,” Douglas noted of the rest of the store’s sales.
Shopper Tony Bouyer was looking for a new computer for his son. This is the first time he has ever been Black Friday shopping.
“People said there would be fighting, but it seemed to go real well,” Bouyer said.
Phil Davis browsed through the store as well, without anything in particular in mind to buy.
“I’m just looking to get ideas,” Davis said. “There’s a lot of stuff I see I’d like to have!”
And swinging through JCPenney in the Macon Mall yielded similar results. Janet Edge had an arm full of clothes for her grandchildren, as she stood in line with her two daughters. Her day started at 6AM.
“Because of the great deals, and I get to spend time with my girls. All of them come with me, so that’s the best part,” Edge said.
