Teen Volunteer from Warner Robins Honored

MACON, Georgia (AFP News Release)– The local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is pleased to announce that Hannah Vines has been recognized as its Teen Volunteer of the Year for 2012. Fourteen-year old Hannah lives in Warner Robins and is an active volunteer at the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences where she helps care for over 65 animals in the museum’s “Mini-Zoo”, including snakes, monkeys, parrots, and turtles.

Through the Teen Volunteer of the Year program, AFP honors teens who have given back to their schools and communities. As the 2012 award winner, Hannah will be recognized at the next AFP event, receive a $100 cash prize, and have a $100 donation made in her honor to the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences.

The award is part of AFP’s celebration of National Philanthropy Day on November 15th. First celebrated in 1986, the charitable sector uses this day to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments that philanthropy has made to communities around the world.
