Taylor Co. Commission Race All Tied Up; Community Surpised by Results

BUTLER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The race for Taylor County Commission District 4 is still undecided.

“343. Crazy,” says Judge Dianne Renfroe, Taylor County Elections Supervisor.

That’s the exact number of votes Commissioner Jerry Albritton and his opponent Russell Pounds racked up leaving the two candidates in a dead even tie. Pounds says this outcome never crossed his mind.

“That was probably the only scenario that nobody had ever anticipated,” Pounds told 41NBC over the phone.

Judge Renfroe says she’s pretty confident this outcome made Taylor County history.
